South Orange & Maplewood School District provides electronic resources for its staff and students. In order to be issued a username and password to access the district network, each user must have a signed Acceptable Use Policy on file with the district.
The Acceptable Use Policy (commonly referred to as an AUP) was revised in Fall 2012 to include a board policy allowing students to use privately owned devices to access the district network.
To save paper, the entire policy is NOT printed in hard copy and distributed to students any longer, however the related policies are visible at the links below. As a parent, you do have the right to deny your child access to the school network. Please sign in the appropriate spot on the form to exercise this option. Please also discuss it with your child, so he/she understands why you have exercised this option and he/she is aware that he/she is not allowed to access the school network. Thanks!
Until a revised form is approved by the board, please print this form, and have both a parent and student sign it where indicated. AUPs (the signed pages only) should be returned to the respective school's librarian ASAP.
